1. SCDL Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% marks.
Students in their final year of examination can also apply for SCDL programs.

2. Student Category SCDL Admission Process:

GENERAL CATEGORY:

Students who have completed their education in India have to appear for their exams and avail themselves of all services in India, which fall under the General Category.

DEFENCE CATEGORY:

Special SCDL course fees concession is offered to retired / active Paramilitary / Police / Defence Personnel (Army, Navy, and Air Force) and their dependents (spouse/child) as a token of appreciation and recognition of their services to our nation. Fee concession is not available to civilian category personnel working in Defence establishments (Ministry of Defence / D.R.D.O., etc.).

INTERNATIONAL CATEGORY:

The SCDL admission process for international students applies to individuals holding a passport issued by a foreign nation, including Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) who have acquired foreign citizenship.

SAARC CATEGORY:

South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) is an organisation of the South Asian nations of Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Students having a passport issued by a SAARC country (except India), including people of Indian origin (NRIS) who have acquired the nationality of a SAARC country, will fall under the SAARC category.

SCDL Admission Process: How to Apply

Purchase Application Form:

STEP 1:

To smoothly initiate the SCDL admission process, click on ‘Sign Up’ and complete your registration on the SCDL Online Application Portal. Log in to purchase the application form and fill out the online form with the login and credentials received at your registered email ID. Then, download the e-prospectus as a soft copy for your reference.
The application form fee for all applicants is INR 1200/-.
Pay the SCDL course fees immediately after purchasing the form and reserve your seat.

Note: Application Forms are available online and offline. The application form fee is non-refundable. Purchase requests for application forms by post are not accepted.

Registration for SCDL Admission Process:

STEP 2:

Upload your recent passport-size colour photograph; candidates need the Govt. Photo Identity Proof, Academic Papers, your signature & Work Exp. Certificates (If any) are in the prescribed format.
Applicants applying under the Defence Category have to give a proof of service certificate [if actively serving], a discharge book [by veterans], or a dependent certificate [by son/daughter/wife/husband of defence personnel] (any one document as applicable).
For international and SAARC students, an address in a foreign country is mandatory, along with an address proof or copies of passport pages showing the visa of the foreign country.
If the applicant has completed education from a school, college, university, or institute outside India, a degree Equivalence letter issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) is compulsorily required.
If the SCDL course fees have not been paid until now, under Step 1, then pay the fee immediately after you submit your form along with your documents and book your seat.

SCDL Course Fees:

STEP 3:

Submit your complete program fee immediately from your Login as per the specified timelines and confirm your seat. Failure to pay the course fee will result in the cancellation of your seat for the selected program.
Online payment is accepted via various payment gateways.
The SCDL course fees range between INR 75,000 and INR 1,00,000.

Note: The exam fee is not included in the program fee. Pay the exam fee separately, per paper, on each attempt. The exam fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. SCDL do not accept any fee in cash form.

One coloured passport-size recent photograph. Childhood photo, side face & selfies are not accepted.
Candidates must provide a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a passport or Aadhaar card. Government ID cards featuring childhood photographs will not be accepted. Additionally, the applicant’s signature must be included on all submitted soft copies.
Photocopy of the Bachelor’s Degree Certificate/ Provisional or Passing Certificate/ all year marksheets, duly self-attested or notarised by a notary as per the applicable eligibility for the applied program.
Degree Equivalence letter issued by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for graduation completed from an International University
A photocopy of the Class XII marksheet, duly attested or notarised by a certified notary, is required.
Candidates in the defence category must submit a service certificate/ discharge book/ dependent certificate (if any). Applicants applying under the Defence Category must submit an active service certificate, a dependent certificate, or a discharge book copy, as applicable.
For international/ SAARC students, a passport photocopy of the page showing a valid visa from the foreign country is required.

Note: Students are asked not to send any original academic documents to SCDL under any circumstances. SCDL is not liable for the loss or return of the original academic documents sent by students.
